What Are The Different Features Of The Semiconductor?

This makes it possible to use  High-reliability semiconductor in parallel to carry out load sharing between energy sources or load transfer without interrupting the power supply. You need to know the various aspects of this machine.

Control Of the Semiconductor

After completing the previous step, connect the controller to the speed regulator. Start the generator and make sure the circuit breaker is open. Check the control direction by raising and lowering SW1. If the frequency increases while SW1 is reduced, select the “Output Reversed” option. If moving SW1, there is no change in frequency, and then you must check the connections from the controller to the speed regulator and also if the speed regulator is operative. Adjust speed regulator SW1 until the generator is running at a rated frequency (50Hz or 60Hz). That done, stop the generator. In this way, the speed regulator SW1 will be set.

To adjust speed regulator SW2, when using the Deep Sea DSExx20 sync line controller, ensure the input configured for ‘Inhibit load on mains’ is active. Still, the information for ‘Inhibit load on generator’ is not functional. Once this is done, increase the value of the parameter “Rated Frequency” by 5% above the nominal value, 3Hz for a 60Hz system and 2.5Hz for 50Hz. Turn on the generator. The generator will work with the values configured in SW1 (50Hz or 60Hz) with the circuit breaker opening. Close the generator on the dead busbar without load.

What Happens Then?

The generator frequency will start increasing to the new setting (63Hz). However, you may not be able to do this. Adjust the value of SW2 to allow the frequency to increase to the new value set in “Rated Frequency” (53Hz or 63Hz). Continue adjusting SW2 to ensure the “Governor analogue” parameter is between 75% to 85%. The sign of the “Analog Governor” (percentage + or -) does not matter. Stop the generator. Reduce 3 Hz in the value of the “Rated Frequency” parameter, that is, variation of -5% of the nominal frequency.

Turn on the generator

The semiconductor will work with the values configured in SW1 (50Hz or 60Hz) with the circuit breaker opening. Close the generator on the dead busbar without load. The generator frequency will start to reduce to the new setting (47.5Hz or 57Hz). SW2 is then adjusted to ensure that the “Governor analogue” parameter is between 75% to 85%. The sign of the “Analog Governor” (percentage + or -) does not matter.

Note that any changes made to the lower percentage will be the same for the higher rate. Change the nominal frequency setting back to the actual nominal frequency (50Hz or 60Hz). This procedure must also be done to adjust the voltage regulator. The only difference is that the + 5% adjustment range made for the Governor will now be   + 10% for the AVR.

Measurements

To carry out the measurement procedure, it is necessary to use at least 10% of the CT (Current Transformer) nominal load to ensure the accuracy class and reliable reading. We prefer a purely resistive load. With the generator on load, verify that the power factor and active power measurements are correct.
