Why Your Website Traffic is Not Picking Up (and How You Can Improve It!)

A steady (or rising!) traffic to your website is a sign that you have finally broken out of the early stages of development! By the time you get high traffic, you can expect your sales, of course, to rise with it. Isn’t that what we want for our business?

Unfortunately, this is not always the case. If this is not the case for you, you should understand that there are some factors behind the low traffic. But, the good thing about it is, you have influence over these factors! Let’s take a look at why you have low traffic and a few tricks to deal with them.

  1. You are a startup.

Congratulations on launching your new website! This is the beginning of a profitable business in the future. The thing is, every startup begins with minimal to low traffic. It takes a few good months to pick up your pace!

Workaround:

Like a local physical business, you will need referrals from your friends and newly found colleagues, at the beginning until you establish your authority. By the time people know about the quality of your products and services, word of mouth will build your traffic exponentially!

  1. You’ve got the wrong keywords.

Having great and informative content is one thing. Hitting the right keywords is another thing that boosts your traffic. If you don’t have the right keywords in your content, chances are, Google wouldn’t channel some traffic to your site!

Workaround:

Keywords aren’t fancy phrases and catchy titles. They are simply how people encode their queries on a search engine. There are tools over the internet you can use to help you end up with high-frequency keyword searches, or you can try some help from professional website builders.

  1. Your content may be lacking substance.

Let’s say you have a pretty page with all the catchy buttons and simple and straight-to-the-point interface. This may be enough for people to visit your page, right? Wrong! It’s not as easy as that! You can hire the best developers out there and come up with the best website designs but still if your content is not relevant, people will not go back after their initial visit!

Workaround:

After investing on the design now is the time to take your web content to the next level. Visitors will be willing to share your page if you have great content!

  1. Your site interface doesn’t do well on mobile devices.

Going for mobile development is no longer just an option—it has become a must for businesses. Every year, more people get their hands on a mobile device. In the future, a decline inthat demand is highly unlikely as the internet becomes more available in all corners of the world.

Workaround:

Start developing and optimizing your website for mobile platforms! There is no other way than this! People need to always have access to the Internet, and their mobile phones are the easiest access to search something!

  1. You don’t update regularly.

You can’t expect your traffic to pick up its pace if you just watch it! If there is a symptom, there is something you can do! If you don’tupload contents regularly, then there will be lesser links to redirect to your page.

Workaround:

This one is easy. If there is something missing, you just need to add that. Add more contents. Even a seasoned SEO company will give you the same advice!

Having a comment section can also greatly improve your website development! It’s something that will shape your business to what your clients need. Besides; you are aiming for client satisfaction, right? Why not prioritize your visitors and give them what they want?
