One of the most important ways to edit videos is to cut them into parts so that you can remove bits you don’t want, extract clips, and so on. In fact if you want to create professional-looking videos, the first step is generally to cut the raw footage that has been recorded.

Although cutting a video isn’t normally that difficult, in some editors it can be complicated. That is why you may want to try using Movavi Video Editor as a video cutter, due to its simple, straightforward and effective approach.

To cut any video, all you need to do is launch Movavi Video Editor and then click on the ‘Add Media Files’ button and select the video that you would like to edit so that it is loaded into the ‘Timeline’. If you prefer another option to load the video is to drag and drop the file itself into the ‘Timeline’.

When you want to cut the video, just click on it in the ‘Timeline’ and move the red marker to the point where you’d like to cut it. Once the marker is positioned, click on the ‘Split’ icon and Movavi Video Editor will cut the video at that point.

If you want to isolate a video segment in the middle of the video you can move the marker and click on the ‘Split’ icon again to cut it a second time. In either case once you’re done your video should be cut into parts, and you can then opt to delete any segment that you don’t want or even edit the video further using Movavi Video Editor. After you’re done, click ‘Export’ to save the video.

Using the other features in Movavi Video Editor will enable you to enhance the quality of your videos, apply special effects and filters, insert animated transitions, add text, include and edit audio, and much more. Each of these features has a similar intuitive approach, and all you need to do is try them out and experiment with them to see how they work.

Now that you know how to cut a video using Movavi Video Editor you should be able to start editing and compiling videos much more effectively. Be sure to make it a point to try what the other features have to offer, so that you’re able to fully take advantage of the editor’s capabilities.
