Are you preparing to sell an iPhone? If so, there are some steps you will want to take to make sure that your personal information is protected.

Keep reading for a guide that can help you store and secure your personal info while also making sure you have access to all the things you will need on another device. In this guide, we will give you some tips on how to prepare for selling an iPhone.

    Back-Up Your Device

To make sure that you don’t lose the information and material stored on the iPhone that you are preparing to sell, you will want to back up your device. You can do so by using iCloud or your computer.

If you’re backing up your phone to iCloud, you can do so by backing it up all at once or you can go into your settings section and activate syncing to iCloud daily. You can use your computer to back up your device by connecting your phone to your computer.

    Unpair Your Apple Devices

If you have other Apple devices paired to the phone you are about to sell, such as an Apple Watch or Airpods, you will want to make sure you unpair them. You can do so with your Airpods by entering your Bluetooth Settings and chose to forget the device. To unpair your Apple watch, go into the settings on your watch and chose to pair the watch from your old phone.

Transfer Info to Your New Phone

Once you have backed up your data from your old device, you will want to transfer this information to your new phone. You can do so using the QuickStart feature if your phone is an iPhone 11 or newer.

You can also use iCloud or iTunes to transfer this data to your new device. Finally, you can use a cable to conduct device-to-device migration or chose to do so wirelessly.

    Sign Out of All Accounts

To keep your information protected, you will want to make sure you have signed out of all the accounts that are on the iPhone. Make sure to log out of your iCloud account, your App Store account, and your iTunes account to protect your payment and personal information as well as to avoid unexpected purchases from the phone’s new owner.

You will then want to wipe your phone clean once you’ve made sure you have all your data stored accurately. You can do so by selecting the reset option in settings and then chose to erase all content and settings.
