Dukto R6
Though this app supports Windows, Mac and even Symbian devices, the easy to use Dukto R6 only helps in transferring data, not syncing it.
Android File Transfer
This free app, created by Google, was last updated in 2012, because of which this app seems to lag behind. It does not allow syncing of multiple items and neither can the user sync events or contacts.
Users can look at cloud storage (like Google Drive and Dropbox) as well, though it involves slightly more work when it comes times to synchronize Android Nexus with Mac.
Dropbox
This option is well known and allows you to upload and receive from two different devices without the receiver having a Dropbox account
Google Drive
